A quote from author Warren Wiersbe
Pastor Brad writes…
“Concerning the battles we all face in life, I just came across some notes from Warren Wiersbe I had written down in my study of Psalm 55 and David's own challenges expressed there.
Psalms 55: 6-7
“Oh, that I had wings like a dove!
I would fly away and be at rest.
Behold, I would flee far away,
I would spend my nights in the wilderness.
First, Wiersbe astutely argues that while our natural and first thought in any painful situation is,
“How can I get out of this?” Our godly response should instead be, “What can I get out of this?”
Second, regarding David's words in Psalm 55: 6-7, Wiersbe adds,
“But we don’t need wings like a dove so we can fly away from the storm. We need wings like an eagle so we can fly above the storm."
Finally, Wiersbe is referencing Isaiah 40, We can fly above the storm!
Isaiah 40:30-31
“Though youths grow weary and tired,
And vigorous young men stumble badly,
Yet those who wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.”
